From my window, through the branches of the bare pear tree, beyond the grey pales of the garden fence and over a russet wall of brick peeks a Canadian flag. My flag.
I’m lucky to see this flag; it speaks of security, well-being, freedom and much, much more. While I watch the struggles in the Arab world for the freedom I enjoy almost unconsciously this flag –brilliant red and white– caught out of the corner of my eye, rippling in the earthy breeze of impending Spring is my call to my duty as a Canadian to vote in this Spring’s election.
